House Passes Water Use and Conservation Research Act
We have good news. On July 30, 2008 the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 3957, The Water Use Efficiency and Conservation Research Act. This would establish a water-use efficiency and conservation research and development program within the EPA's Office of Research and Development. AWE Files Comments on WaterSense New Home Spec
The Alliance for Water Efficiency has submitted comments to the U.S. EPA seeking to improve the draft WaterSense New Home specification that was issued in April. Across the Alliance, members maintain a strong level of support for the WaterSense Program and a desire to see it expand in a timely and orderly way. The draft of the WaterSense New Homes specification marks a solid beginning for WaterSense participation in the labeling of whole buildings based upon published criteria of sustainability. The Alliance looks forward to working with EPA to ensure the WaterSense New Homes program is a success. Download AWE's comments to the EPA here.
